Rosicrucian Philosophy

Rosicrucian philosophy is based on ancient sources like the writings of the classical Rosicrucians of the 17th Century, which tell about the path of initiation into the Christian mysteries. Among others, another important source are the writings of Hermes Trismegistos which contain the wisdom of the ancient Egyptic mysteries.

On the other hand, Rosicrucians experience the universal wisdom as a living force in themselves. Knowledge of God – gnosis – is a state of consciousness that arises from the “Rose of the heart” – the eternal spirit-spark that exits in every man’s heart from the very beginning. Jan van Rijckenborgh - Rosicrucian and Hermetic Gnostic

Jan van Rijckenborgh’s real name was Jan Leene (1896-1968). As co-founder and spiritual leader of the Lectorium Rosicrucianum his life’s work was building, together with Catharose de Petri (1902-1990), the International School of the Golden Rosycross.

Catharose de Petri - Messenger of gnostic Christianity

Together with Jan van Rijckenborgh, Catharose de Petri (1902 -1990) held the spiritual leadership of the Lectorium Rosicrucianum. She fulfilled her own task in terms of spiritual development and the worldwide expansion of the work of the Spiritual School.
